The el ements of group theory are presented. Represelltat ion theoryrnof both finite and continuous groups is suitably developed. ThernSchwinger fOrmulation of angular momentum theory is discussed andrnapplications of SU(2) symmetry to elementary particle physics arernconsidered. The dynamical symmetries of the Coulomb and isotropicrnoscillator problem are studied. The connection between Quasi-ExactlySolvablernproblems and group theory is analyzed. A number of interestingrnopen questions are shown to emerge and partial answers to somernare provided. Perspectives for future work are recorded
