This study assessed the Land Sector Governance practices in service delivery in Addis Ababa CityrnAdministration using Yeka and Lideta Sub-Cities as a case study. The study design was descriptiverncase study. The methodology used to conduct this study was qualitative research approach wherernpurposive sampling method was employed to select respondents to collect quality, relevant andrncomprehensive data. Data was collected from primary and secondary sources. Primary data wasrnobtained through customers, key informant interviews and Focus Group Discussion from 120rnselected respondents using purposive sampling technique. Secondary data from research papers,rnarticles, journals and different reports were also used. The researchers used thematic and simplerndescriptive analysis techniques to present the collected data.rnThe study found that the land sector governance in service delivery in Addis Ababa cityrnadministration particularly in Yeka and Lideta sub-cities are hindered by various factors such asrnbureaucracy, corruption, poor management, political interference like the higher officialsrnappointing based on political capability rather than knowledge and qualification, institutionalrnstructure and lack of skilled human resources. In general lack of good governance was thernbottlenecks of the sector. The study lastly concluded that without properly implementing orrnpracticing good governance in land sector, the government cannot realize the quality of urbanrnservice delivery for the city residents. The study recommended that, to improve service delivery atrnland governance sectors, the management of land administration should ensure that all landrnadministration sector staffs are aware of the principles of good governance through providingrncapacity building training, how to implement and obey to good governance elements in their dayrnto day activities. It was suggested that Land administration sector both Yeka and Ledeta sub cities,rnto pay attention to staff and human resources development strategies with appropriate trainingrnpackages to enhance knowledge of good governance and its implementation and organize thernstrong monitoring and evaluation system in the sector.
