The main objective of this study was to find out the rolernof note-taking in improving reading comprehension of graderneleven students in Addis Ababa •rnIn order to test this, an experiment was conducted inrnwhich one hundred ten subjects were randomly selected from onernschool. The subjects were divided into two groups: the controlrngroup, who was taught teading through the traditional method,rnand the experimental group,whichwas taught reading through thernframeworks of note-taking.rnA Pre-test was given to both the control and experimentalrngroups to determine if there was any significant differencernbetween them. Statistical computations, however, showed thatrnthere was no significant difference.rnAfter six weeks, a post test was administered to both therncontrol and experimental groups. To determine the significantrndifference between the means of the two groups a T-test atrn0.05 level of confidence was applied. The analysis showedrnthat the experimental group performed better than the controlrngroup. Thus, it was concluded that the development of notetakingrnskill in the form of outlines, diagrams, and chartsrnwas .successful.
