The principal aim in conducting this research was to assess the practices andrnproblems of entrepreneurship training in selected TVET colleges of AddisrnAbeba and there by forward possible means for the improvement of therntraining and its outcome. The areas of concern believed to be relevant tornassess the practices and problems of entrepreneurship training were: traineesrnprior information about entrepreneurship, their attitude and motivation;rncurriculum relevance and adequacy; instructors qualification and experience;rnmethods of training as well as training materials and facilities. To this effect,rnthe study was conducted in five selected government TVET colleges.rnRespondents were taken through availability, stratified and simple randomrnsampling techniques. Thus, 40 instructors, 205 trainees were used as thernrespondents of the study to obtain the necessary data. Questionnaires,rnunstructured interview and document analysis were the instruments used forrndata collection. The data collected through questionnaires were analyzedrnusing percentages as the organization of the questionnaires require . to do so.rnFindings from the · data analysis revealed that significant majority of therntrainees did not have any information about entrepreneurship but after therntraining their outlook towards the training was changed. The are two curricularnprepared by MoE and on. The contents of the curriculum are adequate andrnrelevant especially the MoE where as the on's needs improvement. Inrnaddition most of the instructors knowledge and experience is related to MSErnand the number of instructors who had skill upgrading were greater. Of therntraining methods, lecturing was a dominant one. The other methods were leastrnused. The time allotted for the training was sufficient but requires reorganizingrnthe schedule to conduct the training. Moreover, the organization of thernclassroom needs to be improved. Stake-holders were least involved in therntraining especially in entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the result indicated thatrnmaterials and facilities such as training hand tools and machines; teachingrnaids and reference books were inadequate. Following these findings,rnassessing trainees' needs before and during the training and conductingrnresearch helps maximize the results; revising the curriculum and updating therninstructors' knowledge and experience is important. Establishing partnershiprnwith donor organizations and improving the supply of materials and facilitiesrnhighly assists the smooth delivery ofti1.e training and its best outcomes.
