The focus of the paper to assess the challenges of export loan in Ethiopia using primary andrnsecondary data from government and private banks central processing units. The researchrnapproach adopted in this thesis is mixed research approach using primary data and secondaryrnseries data set that consists of five years export loan amounts. The time period covered wasrn2013/14 to 2017/18. This is primarily due to start of export loan in 2013/14.Primary data wasrncollected through questionnaires .Descriptive statistics were employed to analysisrnand presented using tables ,charts and frequency of obtained data . The findings from thisrnresearch show that 89 % of the requirements to get an export loan are a great obstacle andrnchallenge, this leads to 85% of the rejection of requested export loan .Banks do not know 70 %rnof their customers use or not the loan for the intended purpose , 62 % of export loan users didrnnot generate the intended hard currency .In line with primary data analysis of this study it isrnfound that exporters have huge problems on the clarity of export loan use and did not givernenough training and equal treatment by the banks.rnThis paper recommends that policy makers should revise export promotion proclamations andrnregulations by doing further specific researches on each challenges stated above.
