Background: To achieve sustainable development goal and to improve management of noncommunicablernrndiseases the federal democratic republic of Ethiopian ministry of healthrndeveloped guidelines on clinical and programmatic management of major non communicablerndiseases in 2016. Compliance to hypertension guideline was very low in developing countriesrnleading to compromised quality of life and premature deaths. The aim of this study was to assessrncompliance of health practitioners‘ with the 2016 federal democratic republic of Ethiopianrnministry of health hypertension management guideline and health system, health practitioners‘,rnand patient factors associated their compliance in Illubabor and Buno Bedelle zones. rnObjective: To assess health practitioners‘ compliance with hypertension management guidelinernand its associated factors in Illubabor and Buno Bedelle zones. rnMethod: A cross-sectional study design from patient medical record data was used to assess forrncompliance with hypertension management guideline. Medical records of adult Patients treatedrnfor hypertension from March 2019 to march 2020wasreviewed. Simple random sampling methodrnwas used to select the first study population then systematic sampling was used to selectrnconsecutive study populations. The collected data was checked for its completeness, consistencyrnand accuracy before analysis. Data was coded, entered and cleaned using Epi- data 7 and exportrnto SPSS version 25 for analysis. Multivariate analysis was used to obtain a final modelrndescribing the significant independent predictors of guidelines compliance. rnResults: overall compliance of health practitioners‘ to hypertension guideline were found to bernpoor; only 75(19.5%) of patients were managed following the guideline. In multivariate analysis,rnavailability of resource (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] =0.400, 95% CI: =0.203-0.788), supervisionrnstatus (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] =0.497, 95% CI: =0.308-0.892), training status (adjusted oddsrnratio [AOR] =0.250, 95% CI: =0.107-0.584), and appointment status (adjusted odds ratio [AOR]rn=0.091, 95% CI: =0.024-0.352) had significant positive association with compliance tornhypertension management guideline. rnConclusion: poor compliance is primarily due to a lack of recommending lifestylernmodifications. The majority of health practitioners‘ complied with the pharmacologicalrnantihypertensive treatment protocols for 238 (62.0%)of the patients.
