Background: CVDS are the leading cause of deaths in both developed and developing rncountries. Ethiopia is in epidemiologic transformation predominantly infectious diseases tornchronic diseases. CVD is a major public health challenge in Ethiopia. It is crucial to improvernthe life style of the community at the same time it is a key for health care policy to givernemphasis for prevention by educating the community by different ways. rnObjective: The objective of the study is to assess knowledge of CVDs risk factor, healthyrnlife style practice and factors associated with it among adult clients visiting public hospitalrnin Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. rnMethod: A facility-based descriptive cross-sectional study design was conducted. 420rnParticipants who fulfilled the inclusion criteria from April 01, 2021 until June 28, 2021 werernselected by systematic random sampling technique. Data was entered and analyzed usingrnstatistical software SPSS for windows V 26.0. The ethical clearance was obtained fromrnAddis Ababa University College of health Sciences School of Nursing and Midwifery.rnFrequency, mean and standard deviations from descriptive statistics and analytic statisticsrnsuch as bivariate and multivariable logistic regression analysis were computed to determinernthe effect of various factors on the outcome variable. The level of statistical significance wasrna P value of less than 0.05. The results were presented using tables. rnResult: The result showed that most of the study subjects were above age 54. The mean agernwas 48.7 ± 13 years. 255(62.7%) were females. 300(71.6%) of participants have sufficientrnknowledge toward CVD risk factors whereas 238(56.7%) of the entire participants havernsatisfactory behavior (life style) towards CVD risks. Participants with age group 30-39rn[AOR=0.2; 95%CI (0.9-0.45)], Male [AOR=0.46; 95%CI (0.3-0.8)], Urban residentsrn[AOR=4.2; 95%CI (1.9-9.5)] and highly educated [AOR=0.18; 95%CI (0.07-0.43)]; werernshown to have satisfactory knowledge.
