The purpose of this study was to assess utilization of Grade eight Englishrnlanguage radio broadcast in second cycle primary schools of Awi zone. To carryoutrnthe study, relevant literature review was made on the topic understudy. Availability ofrninstructional materials in the schools, utilization of educational radio in the schools;rnteachers' training in relation to educational radio broadcast utilization, teachers'rnattitude towards educational radio broadcast utilization, students' participation inrnEnglish by radio lesson, and related materials e.g. books, journals etc. were searchedrnout. The subjects of the study considered in collecting information were teachers,rnstudents, school principles and SPC coordinators of the ten second cycle primaryrnschools. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, questionnaires, were used. Andrnthe data obtained through these instruments were analyzed using percentage. Thernresults of the study indicates that the causes for inappropriate utilization of Englishrnby radio broadcast program, are: Inadequacy in the provision of instructionalrnmaterials, shortage of shortage of teachers, minimum participation of students duringrnthe radio lesson, the failure of the English teachers to motivate students, inadequaternbudget for the purchase of dry-cell batteries etc. These findings revealed the pitfalls inrngrade eight English by radio lesson broadcast utilization and intended to servernteachers, students, and educational media agency workers, as a frame of reference tornimprove the utilization
