Background: Epidermal necrolysis (EN) is rare with the overall incidence of 1 to 6 case perrnmillion person-years and 0.4 to 1.2 cases per million person-years, for SJS &TEN respectively. rnThe mortality rate associated with EN varying from 10% for SJS to almost 50% for TEN.rn Increasing age, significant comorbidity, and greater extent of skin detachment correlate withrnpoor prognosis.rn rnMethod: A retrospective study was conducted on EN patients visited ALERT hospital in therntime frame mentioned above. The data was collected by reviewing the chart of patients with arnclinical diagnosis of SJS, SJS-TEN&TEN between may2015-may2020. The collected data was rnanalyzed.rnrnRESULT: 50 patients with a diagnosis of SJS,SJS/TEN over lap & TEN were admitted during rnthe study period.68% of the patients diagnosed with SJS, SJS-TEN & TEN are females. Thernmost common affected age group is between 25-50 years of age. TEN, SJS/TEN & SJS was rnmost frequently attributed to antibiotics .ciprofloxaciline being the leading causative agent. HIvrninfection is the most common comorbidity associated. Mortality rate of 14% for SJS/TEN & rn2.5% for the TEN groups was found& Anemia was the most common complication seen.rn rnConclusion: Women and persons aged 25–50 years were the most affected groups within ourrnstudy population, and drugs, especially ciprofloxaciline was the causative agent in 16% of the rncases.
