The purpose of the study was to investigate the major types, causes and resolution techniques of students' disciplinary problems in selected governmental primary schools in Aleltu Woreda. A descriptive survey research was used to achieve the purpose of the study. On top of this, the research sample was composed of 56 teachers, 7 principals and 123 students of the seven selected sample schools in Aleltu Woreda. These samples were drawing from the total population using available sampling for teachers and principals and stratified sampling techniques for students. Moreover, the data gathering tools for this research were questionnaire from teachers and students, and interview from principals. Data collected using these instruments were analyzed using descriptive statistics percentage and frequency. Besides, interviews analysis used to analyze qualitative data. Finally, the study revealed that cheating examination, late coming to school, not doing home work/class work, inattention during teaching; learners refuse to follow instruction were the major types of disciplinary problems seen in the schools. The findings of the study also revealed that lack of parental control, peer pressure, less communication, lack of uniformity (consistency) enforcing rules, classroom management, boring lessons and insufficient supervision were the major cause for the observed disciplinary problems of students in Aleltu Woreda government primary schools. With regard to techniques of students’ disciplinary problems relived that make rules understandable, Giving continuous advice, be fair and consistent, establish structure first were the major techniques of students’ disciplinary problems. Therefore, it was recommended that the school principals, teachers and other stakeholders should set some sorts of rules and regulations specific to the school with the active involvement of the students, in addition to the rules and the regulations of the country, Parents and the society should understand that their contribution to students’ disciplinary problem is great and should participate thoroughly and follow up on the day to day activities of their students by having close relationships with their schools. Moreover, teachers and principals need to be good models to their students on how to deal with students behavioral problems.
