This study attempted to identify how educational materials resources are managed and utilized,rnrole of stakeholders and problems related to educational material resources management andrnutilization. To meet already stated objective descriptive survey design is used to carry out thisrnstudy. This is because the design helps to obtain first hand information from multiple sources.rnAccordingly, the study was carried out on all six secondary schools of Dera Woreda.rnRespondents were selected by availability sampling technique due to their direct relation withrnthe issue under study and also to gain sufficient information. Accordingly the study involved allrn126 teachers, all administrative staffs, two WEO heads, and both CRC supervisors; the total ofrn161 respondents. The data were collected through questionnaire, interviews and observation.rnData gathered through questionnaire were quantitatively analyzed using percentage and meanrnvalue whereas the data gathered through interview, open ended questions and observation werernqualitatively analyzed. The finding of the study revealed: lack of participation of stakeholders inrnmaterial management, lack of awareness creation and training about material managementrnfunctions, lack of timely maintenance practices of materials and lack of continuous supervisionrnand controlling system. Based on these findings, it is forwarded some recommendation: Tornimprove the management and utilization of educational materials: school managements shouldrnwork closely with the school community and stakeholders. Capacitating stakeholders throughrntraining and accessible guidelines.
