Teachers’ satisfaction on their job has a great impact on whether to retain their job or tornleave for other schools or other profession. Private schools in Addis Ababa have arnproblem of retaining their teachers for longer period. This results in shortage of well-rnqualified teachers. Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess the factors affectingrnteachers’ job satisfaction in private high schools of Bole Sub City, to determine thernrelationship between factors that affects teachers job satisfaction and job satisfaction,rnand to determine whether there is a significant relationship between teachers’ jobrnsatisfaction and teacher’s turnover in the private high schools of Bole Sub City. In BolernSub City, Beshale Cluster with a population of 137 was selected purposely for the study.rnThus, a total of 107 respondents representing 78.10% of the population and five keyrninformants (five principals) were participant in the study. Data were collected through arnself-administered questionnaire filled by teachers through hard copy and throughrnelectronic means and a semi-structured interview conducted by the researcher with thernkey informants. Data were analyzed through SPSS version 25 software. Descriptivernstatistics mainly frequency and percentage were used during analysis. Correlationrnstatistics were also used to study the relationship between variables. Results werernpresented in frequency, percentage, and correlation table. It was found out that thernworkload and time pressure, and disruptive students behavior are factors that affectsrnteachers job satisfaction negatively whereas work environment, relation with colleagues,rnparents, and school leadership, educational value emphasized in the school and theirrnfeeling of belongingness are factors affecting teachers job satisfaction positively. It wasrnalso found out teachers job satisfaction was positively related to working environment, tornfeeling of belongingness and to relationship with colleagues, parents, and school leadersrnwhereas it was negatively related workload and time pressure, students’ discipline andrnteacher’s exhaustion and teachers’ turnover in the school. The major recommendationsrnare for private schools to improve the teachers working environment, to implementrndifferent mechanisms to reduce disruptive students’ cases, and to revise the work loadrnthey have assigned for their teachers
