Background: In neonatal period, babies are very susceptible for many disease conditions. Thisrnsusceptibility will double in neonates who are preterm or low-birth weight. Even if it is so, most ofrnthe causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality are avoidable.rnObjective: To assess pattern of admissions and treatment outcome of neonates in NeonatalrnIntensive Care Unit located at Tikur Anbessa specialized teaching hospital, Addis Ababa, EthiopiarnMethodology: A hospital based retrospective cross sectional study was conducted at TikurrnAnbessa Specialized Teaching Hospital from Dec. – June 2017. A total of 304 neonates werernincluded in the study from NICU of the hospital. The collected data was checked for itsrncompleteness manually and then entered and analyzed using SPSS window version 20 statisticalrnsoftware package. bivariate and multivariate logistic regression was done to identify factors thatrnwere associated with the final treatment outcome of neonate.
