It is a common knowledge that cases of sexual harassment in academia are becoming more frequent.rnThe investigation of gender differences in perception of sexual harassment among students wasrnaddressing interpersonal harassment as a psychosocial and social problem.rnThis study sought to examine student’s perception towards sexual harassment, prevalence and effects ofrnsexual harassment up on male and female students, so the investigation of gender differences inrnperception of sexual harassment among students was necessitated by the need to address the problem.rnThe objectives and purpose of the study were to examine the perception of male and female studentsrntowards sexual harassment in selected school.rnMethodology: Both qualitative and quantitative research approach were used in this study.rnA sample of 141student respondents were taken for the study using multi-stage sampling techniques. Inrnthe process of answering the basic questions, a questionnaire capturing various issues includingrndemographic profiles, female and male students’ perception about sexual harassment, the prevalence ofrnsexual harassment and the effects of sexual harassment; Key informant interviews were purposivelyrnheld, in-depth-interview and to get more information purposively two groups of FGD respondents basedrnon their sex and each group has eight (8) members selected from all grades were formed.rnFindings revealed a perception of sexual harassment on all the items of sexual harassment practices,rnand females were higher than the males on all the sexual harassment practices, female students are veryrnvulnerable than male counter parts. Female students were face sexual harassment in their school lifernand they perceive the problem as one obstacle to their daily activity, even male counter parts do not asrnsuch perceive harassment as a great problem.rnHence, it recommended that more concentrate to solve this problems at the research area. Thisrnencourages students to compute in their education and future live.
