Over the past years, deploying Information Technology in business activity hasrnevolved to become the predominant element in business development andrnimprovement process. An E-Business Model is a blueprint of a businessrnstrategy and the foundation for the implementation of e-business informationrnsystems. This research was conducted to investigate the business process cyclernand to propose an E-Business model for Ethiopian Import and ExportrnEnterprises; the case with ELICO, a private owned leather export industry inrnEthiopia.Reforming old bus iness into electronic business is no longer an alternative, it isrnan imperative. Especially in developing countries, including Ethiopia, it is arnchallenging task to integrate ICT with business. Most Import and Export firmsrnhave no proper E-Business model that enables them to integrate ICT in theirrnbusiness. The study employed semi-structured interview to study the businessrnprocess cycle and identify important components to design the E-businessrnmode lFinally, an E-Business model for ELICO has been proposed. eBML was used asrna tool to develop the model based on E-Business modeling framework.
