The idea of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become important one over the lastrnfew decades and it is practiced in different ways across countries and time in the world.rnThe main objective of this study is to assess and describe the CSR practices and itsrnchallenges of Modjo dry port and forward any possible solution that contribute to thernbetterment of the dry port’s corporate social responsibility practices. To achieve thernobjectives of this research, the study was use primary source of data, through structuredrnquestionnaire and interview survey and secondary data was collected from company’srndocumentation. In relation to the methodology it was used mixed approach (bothrnqualitative and quantitative) using simple random and purposive sampling techniques.rnThe population of this study was Modjo dry port permanent and contract employmentrnand management.From the population,90 samples of employees were taken for structuredrnquestionnaire andinterview was conducted gender and social affairs department andrnsafety and standard division managers were taken for data triangulations. Finally therncollected data was analyzed by using a descriptive statistics method and using statisticalrnpackage for social science software version 20, was used to analyze and interpret thernfindings. The result findings of corporate social responsibility practice of Modjo dry portrnreveals from economic and social perspective MDP stand in good position but fromrnenvironmental responsibility perspective weak result is found and achallenge with lackrnof strategic vision plan and unwillingness to spend in CSR. Thus, the enterprise have tornwork more on environmental responsibility collaborate with all stakeholders especialrnsafety and wastage control management.
