This study aims to assess the level of stakeholder engagement in the local public infrastructurernprojects implementation decision and execution analyzing empirical cases drawn from LegarnTafo Lega DadiLega Tafo Lega Dadi Town Administration of Oromia National Regional State.rnA mixed research approach was employed for this study. A questionnaire was used to gatherrnquantitative data from 48 project stakeholder respondents for analysis of their views. Also,rnqualitative data through the semi-structured interview from five key personnel were analyzed.rnThe respondents were made up of professionals from the group of stakeholders who do have thernlegitimacy to directly engage in the implementation phase of local public infrastructure projects.rnThe study revealed that poor local institutional/organization structure, absence of clearrnengagement policies and legal framework, inadequate financing of engagement of stakeholdersrnlack of awareness of engagement, Poor local government/management skills, changes inrnstakeholder engagement culture, late engagement in decision-making and design stage and weakrnstakeholder engagement platform/tool negatively impacted the effectiveness level of thernstakeholder engagement in the study area. This study recommended the local governmentrnimprovements create a conducive policy environment for the effective level of engagement ofrnstakeholders with effective engagement platform’s/tool(e.g. regular workshops, frequentrnmeetings, feedback, etc.) and effective engagement strategies to encourage the inclusion ofrnstakeholders during the implementation decision and execution activities in the town.
