Background: Anemia during pregnancy is a worldwide problem that affectswomen, theirfamilies,and society at large. Itis an important public health concern because of its association with adverse social and health outcomes for both mothers and children.One of the consequences of maternal anemia on the baby is low birth weightwhich majorly determines mortality, morbidity,and disability in infancy and childhood and long term health impact in adult life. General objective:The main purpose of this study is to investigate themagnitude of anemia among term pregnant mothers and the relationship between maternal hemoglobin leveland the neonatal birth weight atAmbo governmental hospitals from May to July, 2019.Methodology: The study wasconducted in Ambo town, West Shoa,Ethiopiafrom May to July, 2019.Healthfacility based comparativecross-sectional study wasconducted amongasample of pregnant women visiting the randomly selected health facilitiesfordeliveryand their neonates. A total of349term pregnantwomen were identifiedfrom the selected health facilities using a systematicsampling technique.
