Background: Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemiarnresulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. The chronic hyperglycemia of diabetesrnis associated with long-term damage, dysfunction, and failure of various organs, especially the eyes,rnkidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels. Glycemic control is considered as the principle helpfulrnobjective for counteraction of organ harm and different intricacies of diabetes. A total of 140 studyrnparticipants were selected during follow up by consecutive sampling technique. Structured questionnairesrnwere used for socio-demographic, and anthropometric data collection. In addition, after overnight (8-12rnhours) fasting 5 ml of blood sample was collected from each participant by serum separator, (SS)tube,rnand Fasting blood sugar (FBS), HbA1c and lipid profiles were measured. Data were analyzed by usingrnEpi data version 3.1 and SPSS version 21.0 statistical software.
