BackgroundrnThe district health information system plays a critical role in supporting evidence-based rndecision-making for all system pillars. However, health workers do not fully utilize districtrnhealth information for decision-making. Hence, to ensure the effective and efficient utilization ofrnhealth information, periodic assessment becomes very crucial. The aim of the study was,rntherefore, to assess the utilization of district health information for decision making and itsrnassociated factors among case team heads in selected public health institutions of Addis AbabarnCity Administration, Ethiopia from February to April 2020. rnMethod: A cross-section study design was conducted using a quantitative approach. A pretestedrn&rnstandardrnPRISMrntoolrnwasrnadministeredrntorncollectrnquantitativerndatarnfromrn240rncasernteamrnrnheadsrnrnin 23 selected health institutions. Data were entered by Epi-data and were cleaned andrnanalyzed by SPSS version 23.0. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize key findings.rnLogistic regression was used to assess factors associated with outcome variables and findingsrnwere reported using crud and adjusted odds ratio and corresponding 95% confidence interval. rn Result: A total of 234 case team heads participated in the study with a response rate of 97%. rnOut of the total, 55.1% were females. About 164(70.1%) of them have less than 5 years‟ workrnexperience and only 90(38.5%) participants attended training on DHIS2 software; Over all, the rnproportion of utilization of district health information among case team heads in healthrninstitutions was about 41.5%( 95%CI: 35.09-47.81). Among other factors ICT infrastructurern(AOR 5.03, 95% CI 4.02-9.67), financial support (AOR 5.68, 95% CI 9.84-15.39), access ofrntraining (AOR 3.64 95% CI 4.75-7.28), supportive supervision (AOR 2.50, 95% CI 1.23-3.16),rnwere significantly associated utilization of DHIS2 data. rnConclusion and recommendation: Generally, this study revealed that poor utilization of districtrnhealth information among the case team heads in health institutions. Inadequate ICTrninfrastructure, poor supportive supervision, shortage of financial support, training gaps of thernusers, were reduces the utilization of district health information s. It needs major improvement tornavail ICT infrastructure; computer, internet connectivity, coordinated supervision and fillrntraining gaps to enhance the confidence of the DHIS2 users.
