Signalized intersections are important elements of urban road networks, and their efficiency andrnsafety rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rnsignificantly rnimpact rnthe rnperformance rnof rnthe rnentire rnroadway rnnetwork. rnThere rnarerndifferent rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rn rneducational, rnenforcement rnand rnengineering rnmeasures rnthat rnarernattemptedrnto rnimprove rnsafety rnand rn rnefficiency at a signalized intersection.rnA traffic signal countdown timer is an engineering device rnthat displays the remaining time, typically in seconds, of the current signal phase. Green signal countdown (GSC) and Redrnsignal countdown (RSC) affectsrn rnthe red light violations by increasing violations at the end of red rnand decrease at the end of yellow. The presence of signal countdown enlarged the range of typernII dilemma zone at the onset of yellow.
