The present study explores location related factors that contribute tornstudent academic achievement. To do this, two sub cities that werernassumed to be situated in inner and outer city were selected and 10rnschools were purposively sampled from these sub cities. The data wererncollected through document review of 654 randomly selected samples.rnTo support the document review, close ended questionnaire wasrnadministered to 279 randomly selected students. In addition,rnsupportive evidences were also taken from 35 teachers and 10rnprincipals through close ended questionnaire and interview guides,rnrespectively. Analysis of the data collected was made usingrnindependent t-test. In addition, percentage was also used for thernsupportive data collected through questionnaire. The result of thernanalysis indicated that there is academic achievement differencernbetween inner and outer city school students. In addition, outerrngovernment schools perform significantly better result. However, therntrends of achievement between years, and outer and inner privaternschools have no significant difference. Moreover, from the evidencesrncollected through questionnaire and interview, the researcher hasrnidentified out of school factors and in-school factors which haverncontribution to students' achievement difference between inner andrnouter city schools. Finally, working to minimize in school and out ofrnschool factors in inner city schools, strict control and counseling service,rnexperience sharing, increasing teachers and stakeholders' effort andrnclose communication with parents are forwarded as direction tornimprove student achievement
