The aim of the study was to examine percieved emotional intelligence ,psychological well-being and academic achievement of Addis Ababa University College of Social Science students. The study employed mixed research methods to address research objectives. The research setting was Addis Ababa University, College of Social Science. Two hundred sixty-two (123 males and 139 females) participants were selected using stratified random sampling technique coupled with purposive sampling. Both qualitative and quantitative data generated from primary source using both quantitative (questionnaire scales) and qualitative (interviews) methods. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical procedures and content analysis. The study shows that Addis Ababa University Social Science students’ have scored above average on emotional intelligence and psychological well-being.‘’ Regulation of emotion’’ and ‘’use of emotion’’ are prevalent facets of emotional intelligence experienced by students. The study also revealed social support, spiritual gathering, physical exercise and moments of silence were major mechanism used to regulate their own emotion. Students use emotions to guide behavior and decision, tap inner- potential and to adjust with environment. Females scored higher on overall and specific facets of emotional intelligent than males. Besides, there was a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological wellbeing. On the other hand, it was found that there were no significant relationships between academic achievement and emotional intelligence, and academic achievement and psychological wellbeing.
