This study was conducted with the aim of exploring the reintegration challenges and prospects onrnSaudi Arabia female migrant returnees. It was carried out by focusing on female returnees fromrnSaudi Arabia. The research used a qualitative cross-sectional method by employing thernphenomenological approach which was aimed at capturing the lived and told reintegration storiesrnof the participant returnees. These stories intended to identify predisposing factors to return backrnto Ethiopia, opportunities and challenges they faced in their homeland and efforts made byrnconcerned bodies to facilitate effective reintegration processes. The total number of respondentsrnof this study are 15 people, 10 of them were returnees from Saudi Arabia and the rest 5 were keyrninformants from Addis Ababa city administration Bureau of Labor and Social Affair and Yeka subrncity line office. The major predisposing factors are; overburdened and absence of leisure time andrnpsychological trauma and sickness caused by mistreatment and loneliness. The study found outrnthat female returnees have faced economic and social challenges soon after their arrival tornEthiopia. Absence of employment opportunities and lack of regular incomes are among therneconomic challenges. Declining family care and support for the returnees, direct and indirectrnfamily pressure to remigration are the social challenges they have faced. The study also revealsrnthat, the reintegration process for female returnees was disorganized, not regular and did not helprnthem to effectively reintegrate to the community. Based on these findings the researcherrnrecommended that; government should facilitate strong pre-departure screening and training forrnfemale workers before they went to the Gulf State mainly Saudi Arabia. Government should alsornfacilitate effective psychosocial support and rehabilitation on their arrival to Ethiopia. Moreover,rnit should avail a strong and sustainable rehabilitation and reintegration processes that could bernapplied with collaborative effort of government, non-government, individuals and privaterncompanies
