The main objective of the study was to explore psychosocial challenges and coping mechanism of rnwomen experiencing obstetric fistula. Psychosocial challenges and coping mechanism are rncommon in women with obstetric fistula. However, data on psychosocial issues affecting rnpatients with obstetric fistula in Ethiopia are scarce. The study employed a qualitative research rnapproach to answer the questions and achieve the research objectives. The researcher utilized rnpurposive sampling method total 19 participants (15 patients and 4 key informants) were rnselected to take part in the study. The study area was selected purposively at Addis Ababa rnHamline Fistula Hospital. Data was obtained through in-depth interview, key informant rninterview, and focus group discussion(FGD). Data found from different source was collected and rntriangulated to assess the trustworthiness of the information and thematic analysis was done.rnThe finding indicates, obstetric fistula had detrimentally affected their health and well being , rnhaving psychological challenges like anxiety, fear, depression, worry, stress, stigma, anger, rnsuicide attempt, hopelessness and loneliness.
