The older peopleâ€Ÿ population is growing faster all over the world. Older people, in Ethiopia, are one of the vulnerable groups in society due to physical change, health disorders and financial constraints. The increase in population together with their increased vulnerability is an alarming call for policy action and service provision for the elderly. The objective of this study is, therefore, exploring the role of Ethiopian Elders and Pensionerâ€Ÿs National Association: promoting access to services to the elders. The study used a qualitative research method. Case study was the research design. A purposive sampling was employed and data collected from eight interviewees and from one FGD seven participants. There were also three expert key informants. Thematic data analysis method is employed. The findings of the study revealed that EEPNA have a pivotal role in promoting access to services to older people and striving for the best of their benefit; such as advocating for their rights and privileges, capacity-building programs to enhance the technical and material capacity of the elderly, supporting vulnerable elderly to have access to secure incomes and strengthening the associations of the elderly. The findings also showed as the elderlies are grateful for the work done by EEPNA. Participants reported that EEPNA has been experiencing diversified challenges, such as budget, material problems and the intricacy of bureaucracy makes the association incapable to handle issues of the older people. Older people participants also clearly expressed their criticisms that the government not ratified the national convention for the elderly as a considerable challenge to the association. The findings of this study have implication for the future study, policy formulations as well as social work practices.rn Key Words: EEPNA, older people, associations, advocacy, promoting to service
