The main objective of this study was assessing major contributing factore responsible to diuorce and consequences of diuorce on the spouses in Bahir Dar Town.From the diuorced indiuiduals who came to present their complaints to the court and women affairs office from January 1 to March 30.2002. 140 (65 male and 75 femals respondent were taken as a sample for this study. Auaitability sampling technique was used to select the participants of the study.To collect data both quantitatiue as well as qualitatiue research methods were employed.The necessary data were collected through questionnaire, interuiew and focus group discussion.
