This research is conducted on the Child Friendly School project being implemented inrnfive primary schools of Becho Dstrict, South-West Shoa Zone, Oromia Regional State forrnthe last two years. The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of the practicernconsidered in ending the child violence at rural primary schools. The study has adoptedrnboth quantitative and qualitative methods for data analysis. To conduct the study all thernfive primary schools and one control school are considered. Sampled school teachers &rnadministrators, students and parents are used as a data source. As the data collectionrntools: questionnaires, interview and focus group discussions are used to collect data fromrnsample of teachers, administrators, students and parents. Explanatory descriptivernapproach was adopted to report the findings. The results from the data analysis depict thatrnthe project has adopted participatory approach as all relevant stakeholders like DistrictrnEducation Office, schools community and parents took part at planning, implementation,rnmonitoring and evaluation stages of the project. There were also various forms ofrntechnical and material inputs that contributed to crate attractive learning environment forrnthe children. As a result, improvements were made to the physical, social and learningrnenvironment of the schools considered. School facilities were fulfilled for students. Thernschool social environment is also improved as the relationship among students (peers),rnstudents & teachers and students and parents has shown significant improvement. Inrnaddition, students are accessed to proper educational amenities and learning materialsrnwhich shows improvement in the learning situation of the school. Most importantly,rnchildren are empowered for self-initiated learning and participation in school matters.rnGenerally, the Child Friendly School Project has contributed valuable lessons thatrnsupported to end child violence at the five targeted primary schools. Hence, it isrnrecommended that the lesson from the project will be well documented and disseminatedrnto other schools
