This Study has tried to find out the communication, orientation and mobility skillsrnexperiences of the Deaf-Blindpersonsin the Metropolitan cityof Addis Ababa consideringrnthe case with ENADB in particular.rnIn order to conduct the study, qualitative research approach has been employed withrnQualitative phenomenological study method and with theme descriptive analysis methodrnto make the finding more understandable, in-depth interview, reading of relevantrndocuments/reference materials and focus group discussion as well as participantrnobservation has been used to collect the data. The study has also used observation andrnpictorial representations that support what the Deaf-Blind personssaid during the study.rnThe process of data Collection madeuse of four care givers; six Deaf-Blind personsasrninformants for the study.rnThe findings indicate that all Deaf-blind persons travel to communicate with other peoplernfor their daily routine needs withoutappropriate trainings for communication, orientationrnand mobility skill. The pavements that lead to different corners of the city are not easilyrnaccessible for their mobility. In addition, the peoplethey meet on roads areusually, notrncooperativeto give helpful information that they are looking for. Therefore, it can bernsaid; the support for the ENADB communityisn’t based on the knowledgernofCommunication, Orientation and mobility skill. The study proposes; the Metropolitanrninfrastructures and buildings leading ways need improvements to fit the needs of Deaf-rnBlind persons. Finally, on the bases of the study, findings and recommendations arerndrawn to concerned bodies.
