This study is rendered to examine the pseudo perception of top ten, grade twelvernpreparatory students in each class, in Lideta sub-city, on the correlation ofrnacademic and physical proficiencies, the motive of the researcher to undertake thernstudy is on one hand to see the association of the physical development with thatrnof intellectual and determine their correlation on the other hand to assess thernperception of those ranked students towards the school physical educationrnengagement and physical activities at large in any case to do so (to make thernstudy practical and viable) the researcher customized descriptive co relationalrnmethod and the sampling procedure is deliberative(convenient) sampling and thernsample size was 100 participants that were engaged by the study, in connectionrnwith this the data sources were both the primary and secondary, as the primaryrndata gathering procedure questionnaires , focus group discussion and interviewsrnwere prepared and questionnaires were constructed and distributed for both thoserntop ten students and for those PE teachers of those ranked students at the studyrnareas whereas the interview were semi structured type and the items constructedrnand presented(interviewed) for those aforesaid PE teachers (interviewees) andrnwhile the focus group discussion where carried on for those four selected PErnteachers, all the activates have been recorded with tape recorder and what havernyou as the secondary data sources the researcher has been operationalised thernliterature review which clearly showed the association of academic performancernwith that of physical efficacy in a positive comportment and as the secondary datarnsources the researcher has been organized a check list in order to observe thernphysical features and related phenomena within the study areas ,having said allrnthese things about the nature of the study and data sources the data that wasrnobtained by questionnaires were analyzed and interpreted quantitatively withrntabulation in percentage whereas the rest aforesaid data sources have beenrnanalyzed and interpreted qualitatively at the end findings, conclusions andrnrecommendations have taken their own places and they approved a positiverndirection.rnKey terms: physical proficiency, academic achievement, deliberative sampling,rnpseudo perception, correlation
