The rapid growth of the number of different telecom service users, the significantrninventions of services, and web-based applications make the service providers expectedrnto have a huge number of subscribers. People also show their interest to use the newlyrnemerging services and applications since these services and applications are making liferneasier in day-to-day activities. Consequently, this makes the service providers have anrnenormous number of users. Even though it is good to increase the number of subscribersrnfor the providers, the traffic that is forwarded from these subscribers to the provider’srnnetwork is also vast. As a result, this will make the service provider’s network becomerncongested. Providers should have to consider their backbone network capacity whilernoffering the different types of services. The increase in the number of customers withoutrnthe timely deployment of the network expansion project will make the network to bernexposed to congestion. Network expansion or deployment of new projects takes high costrnas well as is time-consuming. But before the implementation of new projects, networkrnbandwidth optimization should be implemented to use the available network resourcesrneffectively and efficiently.rnThe motivation of this paper is to investigate and analyze the performance and linkrnbandwidth utilization of the core network by implementing MPLS TE + QoS. The impactrnof QoS parameters is being analyzed by using two scenarios; MPLS LDP + BE and MPLSrnTE + QoS scenarios. Simulation tools such as GNS3, Ostinato, and PRTG are used torncompare the performance of the two scenarios. The analysis result shows that in MPLSrnTE + QoS scenario packet loss is improved by 29%, throughput improved by 17.4%, andrnlatency improved by 15.3%. From this result, it is highly recommended that servicernproviders should have to deploy MPLS TE + QoS on their core (backbone) networks, rnwhich makes them more beneficiary.
