The purpose of thi8 study is to investigate the usernof satire by nine poets who published their works duringrnthe po.t-revolution era. Although some of the poems daternback to the pre-revolution era, the purpose of the studyrnis not to show their relevance to the period. In specificrnterm8 the research paper aims at shoving with what featuresrnof satire the themes of the selected poems are concernedrnwith as well as the type of tones they employ.rnA general look at their con+.ents vividly reveals tornus that they focus on social problems, particularly onrnpretentiousness, abuses of t~chnological discoveries andrncorruption. Most of the poets capitalize on the identityrncrisis and the pretentious behaViour of the youth, especiallyrnof the overseas educated.
