The subjects of the study were two hundred fourteen (i.e. J 60 teachers and 54 schoolrnmanagement bodies) drawn from the ten sample primary schools, selecting one fro 111 eachrnsub-city, of Addis Ababa. Teachers and school management bodies were selected usingrnsystematic samplillg technique and availability sampling technique respectively. Threernkinds of data collection instruments were used in this study, namely; questionnaire,rnobservation and interview. The data collected using these instruments were analyzed byrnmaking use of different statistical analysis methods and qualitative description, such asrnfrequency counting percentage, mean and description of some qualitative data .rnThe findings (i.e. the results) indicated that the management of self-contained classroomrnteaching system. in Addis Ababa city government was found to be unsatisfactory. Thisrnhappened mainly due to lack of well-trained manpower and in availability of appropriaternresource and facilities and poor managerial competence. For this reason, the system wasrnnot properly implemellted. Consequently, the Addis Ababa Education Bureau is expectedrnto assign those school lIlanagement bodies and teachers who are Veil trained (lIIdrnexperienced ones along with the necessary teaching facilities in order to effectivelyrnmanage the self-contained classroom teaching system as expected .
