The main purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of TVETrntrainees toward entrepreneurship (self-employment) with the effect of sex andrndepartment. Two hundred sixteen participants were selected uSingrnproportional stratified random sampling techniques considering thernDepartment as independent variable for stratification .Likert scale- jive pointrnperception attitude scales was considered for trainees questionnaires.rnPurposive sampling was preferred to gather data from entrepreneurshiprntrainers (five in number), guidance, and counselors (three in numbers) throughrninterview. A method of analysis was, mean, standard deviation and chisquarernto see the significance difference of the trainees perception. Moreover,rna two way ANOVA was employed to see the degree of perception differencernbetween male and female business, construction, and Industrial jieldsrn(Department) of study.rnThe result showed that the perception of trainees toward entrepreneur (selfemployment)rnwas positive with support the trainee received, and their interestrntoward the jield of study. Even though there was societal influence, therntrainees' perception towards motivations (recognition, basic needs andrnreward) to entrepreneur is positive. However, it showed there was perceptionrndifference between departments in being entrepreneur. As it was shown inrnthe study the society influence on females in becoming entrepreneur is less.rnHence, it is concluded that the trainees' perception toward entrepreneur is inrngood condition. However, in order to get better condition the colleges shouldrn•rnstrengthen their staffs with the knowledge of entrepreneurship.
