The main purpose of this study is to examzne employees perception ofrnwork environment and their organizational commitment. Accordingly,rnemployees perceived organizational justice and perceived quality of leaderrnmember exchange as variables of work environment were studied to seerntheir relationships to organizational commitment. Selected demographicrnvariables were also studied to see whether they are correlates andrnsignificant predictors commitment. Moreover, turnover intentions and jobrnsatisfaction were examined to see their relations with commitment. Thernabove objectives were approached by selecting 140 respondents fromrnKombolcha Textile Factory using simple random samples. A questionnaire,rnwhich consisted of 73 items, were developed and adopted to collect data.rnFocus group discussions were also used to get additional information.rnAfter conducting pilot study and getting feedback about the validity ofrnitems from individuals 73 item questionnaires were finally administered tornemployees in the work settings with the help of two research assistants.rnData entry and analysis were performed using statistical packages of thernsocial sciences (SPSS) version 17. Pearson product moment correlation(r),rnmultiple and stepwise Multiple regressions were primarily used to analyzerndata. The results indicated that perceived organizational justice andrnquality of leader member exchange were positively and significantlyrncorrelated with organizational commitment. Age and work experience werernalso found to be significantly correlated with organizational commitment.rnThe findings also showed a positive and significant correlations betweenrnjob satisfaction and organizational commitment, and negative andrnsignificant correlations between turnover intention and organizationalrncommitment. Implications of the findings in terms of increasing the qualityrnof work environments to enhance organizational commitment were alsorndiscussed.
