REDUCTION OF UNEMPLOYMENT THROUGH THE ACTIVITIES OF COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES
(A Case Study of Selected cooperative societies in Ihiala LGA OF Anambra state)
The aim of writing this research work is to find out way to reduce under employment through the activities of cooperative societies. The study was limited to select cooperative societies in Ihiala local Government Area of Anambra State, the major instrument used for the study, questionnaire and interview are the major instrument used for the study. Questionnaires were administered to 290 respondents from the various cooperative societies, investigation revealed that, there are many factors militating against efficient which, if properly addressed will reduce under employment.
However, the society has been able to create employment by giving loans to member with low interest to study small scale business so that they will be self employed.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF STUDY
Co-operative is an association of person faced same economic problem who voluntarily pulled their resources on the basis of equality through joint effort and mutual participation to remedy their plight.
Others defined co-operative as a society a group of person’s who pull their resource to produces, buy and sell goods among themselves for mutual benefits; coady international institute however defined co-operative as a free association of person legally constructed for the purpose of conducting an economic enterprise or business which they control and administer democratically according to establishment principle techniques. Each of the definition highlights the point the first is the voluntary nature of the association. In other words people agree on the own to form co-operative societies. No authority or body legislates or order that a co-operative society must exist in a particular area.
Secondly, collective efforts are identified in co-operative. This means that peoples’ endeavor are geared towards the success and betterment of the co-operative last collective control emphasized by implication if there is ay benefit which accures to the co-operative society, this belongs to all member by the same token in case of any problem that arises the society are such a problem collectively or jointly.
No matter which ever way it is considered co-operative society is an association of people having the same economic problem and who voluntary agreed to pull their source mutual participation to enable them achieved their common aims and objectives.
Co-operative movement started first in Rod dale England on the 15t August and 2 Female. This movement was formed as a resource of organized and industrial revolution which occurred in England, during which period drastically change took place in agriculture industry and commerce.
To over come some of the hardship prevalent during that period, these 28 workers formed the first c0-operative society known as Equitable pioneers of Rochale since than thousands of c0-operative societies have been formed in many countries of the world for example, in the united state along, 5554 co-operative organization handle 18 percent of farm supplies in 1974-1075 cropping vam by 1975 there were about 450,000 members of co-operative societies in Nigeria and this constituted 15 percent of the country’s working population.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
One of the problem facing the country today is unemployment; graduates lived out every year without having enough work to do or not having worked that makes full use of skills and abilities.
This is because of lack of proper awareness of being self employed through organizing co-operative society. These people could come together and hardness their resources for the purpose of gainful employment. Again, it was also discovered that the co-operative societies which are in existence are poorly funded and have poor internal administration. Beside, people are not properly in formed of the need for the co-operative society.
Investigations had revealed that there are many factors militating against efficient performance of co-operative society. Which if properly addressed with erect employment for he unemployment masses.
1.3 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
Reduction of unemployment through the activities of co-operative societies.
Co-operative which plays an increasingly important role in the economic life of many countries and individuals, is the objective of this study, it is for ahead an attempt to this of economic organization and to give a fairly comprehensive review and analysis of the various positive co-operative activity with every indication that the more co-operative project there are shops, farm mills, workshops, bank factories e.t.c. the more job created from them with the purpose of providing their members with full with time employment. Therefore our aim in this respects emphases a heavy promotion and establishment of co-operative enterprise and exploit the economic advantages and benefits associates with it. Taking brief survey of perhaps the potential advantages of co-operative of co-operative movement are as follows:
1 To help eradicate poverty in the area
2 To encourage membership in the association
3 To reduce the rate of unemployment in the area
4 Reduction of unemployment through the activities of
co-operative societies should help to reduce the rate of crime thereby creating employment opportunities for the young people in the area or societies.

All the ends of this research work I will like to devote my research work to an empirical study of how we can successful bring the unemployment deficiency to an abrupt stop and I will also like to accomplish a goal for the government to create job opportunity to reduces un-employment in the countries and also give rooms for people to have interest to belong or been a members of co-operative society.

First and foremost, this project research resolves and accomplish are as follows

2. supply modern farming investment or industrial development, this implies programme for the un-employment schools leavers and for training of teachers and the extension services.
3. Mobilization and planned orientation of investment funds from both internal and external sources.
4. The massive design to expand the market both domestic and export manufactures.
5. Economic growth and employment: economic growth stagnation and the perpetuation of poverty

a. What are the activities of co-operative society that reduce un-employment?
b. Do you feel that unemployment can be duced through the activities of co-operative society?
c. In what way have co-operative society reduce un-employment?
d. How contented are you with employment opportunities activities society have provided?
1.5 SIGNIFICANT OF THE STUDY
In order to understand and explained the nature and essence of some of the fundamental problem of unemployment, in term of these concept and in particular to make practical proposal for the actual solution to their problem, it would be necessary to widen this analysis to include the study of contemporary socio economic attitude of the development of man-power, this needs terms for the fact that economic, technological, structural and similar actual causes of dismissal form jobs, which the reason the employment and continuance of mass unemployment as motioned earlier can only be discovered by the relevant socio-economic phenomena and relationship. Programmed designed to deal with unemployment put forward by different national organization are very similar in many important and even identical, this create condition favorable for joint action.
In the context, one must mention the subject of scientific studies of the problem of un-employment. It is most important to achieve a complete of all sided analysis of whole spectrum of the problems of unemployment including all the relevant question of an economic socio-logical and socio-political character to study the extent of the actual influence of the technological and scientific revolution and regionalization of production upon the level of unemployment in various parts of economy to conduct join research project on such subjects such as co-operative and the unemployment problems.
Here, we shall discuss the contribution of co-operative groups, a contribution neglected. However, in furthering the scope of the particular on:
l Improve economic social and cultural situation of straw with limited resources and opportunities as well as to promotes their initiatives
l Increase national income export, earning and employment opportunities, increase on the use of resource which will in addition be used.
l An increases personal and national wealth through incentive. to save campaign against using an health uses of credit.
l And impact to the economic activities and of equal distribution of the surplus products.
l Improve social condition and compliment. Social education and communications.
However, since co-operative consider the enhancement of members will being as, the prime ideology, than it must work toward that target, this research study is primarily concerned in addition to the previously enunciate contribution to find out ways of making co-operative look a communistic coagulation of economic development and growth by marketing job creation as the prime ingredient toward the target.
1.6 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The area of the study or research is that local government area of Anambra state. The research is to determine the impact capability and effect of reduction of unemployment through the activities of co-operative movement with specific emphasis on EZIOKWU BUNDY WOMEN.

The research cover the operation, with view finding out what extent they of emirate and create employment both of the patrons and other member of the societies
1.7 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
In this attempt to producer this work, the researchers faced several handicaps which include inadequate of data, non co-operative attitude of some officials who visited resulting in their failures to divulge some vital information about their societies and how the societies do carry out their operation. It was not easy to contract some of the official of the local government council, co-operative division whose experience would have helped the research in developing a base approach. Even when contracted they failed to disclose some vital information. Finance was a problem which almost hampered my completion of this research. It limited my travelling to the specifically sampled coverage so I had to act on the material within my reach provided.

Employment: this can be defined as the assigning of a specific job to an employee by an employer, this assigned job ought to meet required standard stipulated by the management which allows for remuneration.
