PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED BY FEMALE SECRETARIES IN BUSINESS ORGANIZATION. A CASE STUDY OF (NEPA ENUGU)
This research world is aimed at defining the problems of female secretaries in business organizations. A case study of NEPA.
The problems of female secretaries crivisaged in this include discrimination in employment, husband’s attitude, the secretary boss relationship, social problems, psychological problems and limited chances of advancement.
The researcher collected data for this study from questionnaires, it was discovered that female secretaries are not discriminated against in employment, official responsibilities expressly affect the private life of a female secretaries. Having made the above findings, the recommendations, business organization should have a policy, statement opposing age, sex, discrimination in employment. The female secretaries should try to keep their business and private life.
PROPOSAL
INTRODUCTION
Introducing this topic problems encountered by female secretaries in business organization.
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY: This is knowing what a secretary is all about, knowing the relationship between secretary and co-workers, even with his/her boss, when it was introduced in Nigeria. Moreover, knowing the problems the female secretaries do face in the working place.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: The problems that face female secretaries are stated as follow.
a. Sexual harassment from the boss
b. Combination of the office management or responsibilities and that of the home management.
c. Intimidation by the male counterparts etc.
1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: To identify the role of secretaries in (NEPA). To know whether the unmarried female secretaries in (NEPA) have more chances of advancement on the job than their married counterpart.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY: This study will serve as an indicator to employer’s as to know how to treat their female secretaries, know the working environment that will be best for them and to improve the organizational performance and give more chance for women empowerment..
1.5 SCOPE OF THE STUDY: It is designed to study NEPA and its environments on the challenges and problems facing the female secretaries in the discharge of their duties.
1.6 RESEARCH QUESTION: The question of this study focus on the female secretaries. Having equal chances of advancement with their male counterpart whether they divulge official secret in National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). To know whether their work affect their private lives both married and unmarried female secretaries in NEPA
2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW: This can be written or oral way in which people or group of person review about the studies it can be newspapers, journals encyclopedia etc.
3.0 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: This study was designed to look into the problems encountered by female secretaries in NEPA. It is also used to highlight the method and procedures to be used in the course of the study
3.1 RESEARCH DESIGN: On this study the problems encountered by female secretaries in NEPA, a survey method was used. This method consist of obtaining, analyzing and interpreting research data got from respondents.
3.2 SELECTION OF POPULATION: The population for this study were the executive and secretaries of the NEPA
3.3 DEVELOPMENT OF RESEARCH MATERIAL: The instrument used for the collection of data was mainly questionnaire and observation.
3.4 RESEARCH PROCEDURE: There are two major research procedure the primary and secondary data. Primary source of data collection is questionnaire were sample for the opinion of the executive and secretaries in all the section of NEPA in Okpara Avenue Enugu. While in secondary source of data collection comes from the written part of the book, newspaper etc.
3.5 DATA COLLECTION: This was not an end but regarded as a means to an end. The answer to this research work provided through the comparism of the percentage of the response to each question.
3.6 VALIDITY OF THE INSTRUMENT: The research prepared 25 questionnaire in a very simple form and sent to their supervisor who validated it and approved at a correct instrument for the study.
3.7 RELIABILITY OF THE INSTRUMENT: To know reliable, the researcher used test-retest method. Questionnaire was given to 10 respondents and was collected from them which 100% reliable.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS
It is the aim of everybody to be an achiever in whatever he/she does in life. People in this profession look forward to succeed, but unfortunately female in this career encounter one problem or the other and for this reason they are not pleased with the job. Below are some of the problems encountered by female employees in this profession.
1. If social suspicion

INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
A secretary has been defined by the National International Association as executive assistance who posses a mastery of skill, who demonstrate the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, who exercise initiative and judgment and who takes decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
Stenographers and secretaries are office workers whose jobs primarily require stenographic skills, namely proficiency in taking dictation with shorthand. Three million people employed as secretaries representing one out of every six clerical workers.
`more than 98% of secretaries and stenographers are women (new age Encyclopedia Vol. 13). The secretarial profession came to Nigeria as a whole with the coming of the white men (colonial masters)
when the white men came to Africa, they needed to communicate with they blacks hence they searched for and made “interpreters”. These interpreters are indigenes of the various areas they visited. This enable both
